About this video

Teo Hwa Kwa discusses some of the consequences the current global economic crisis left on American real estate markets. He predicts how the economy in the region will behave in upcoming months and explains how these consequences might affect Guatemala in certain areas. He also makes a brief description and comparison between Guatemalan and American real estate markets. Finally, Kwa describes which difficulties and advantages our country has regarding this specific economic sector and how the implementation of effective policies can help develop it in the long run.

Teow Hwa Kwa

Teow Hwa Kwa is Thompson-Ferrari Endowed Business Chair and professor of business at Sterling College. He is also visiting professor at the Business School, Universidad Francisco Marroquín. He holds a PhD in urban and regional science with emphasis on real estate finance and developmentand from Texas A&M University, a MS in land development and a BS in economics from University of Southern Maine. Kwa is coeditor, with Atef Sharkawy, of "A Strategy for International Real Estate Education: Proceedings of the International Congress of Real Estate."
